If you, like me, travel internationally frequently, you have or are likely considering obtaining Global Entry Status from the United States Customs office. The TSA PRE program costs $85 for domestic travel. For an extra $15, you can get TSA PRE and Global Entry. It will take a bit longer, depending on how fast you can get an appointment at you local interview location.
Before applying for Global Entry online, learn about the eligibility requirements.
It’s easy. Just follow these steps:
- Apply Online: Fill out an online application and pay the $100 non-refundable application fee.
- Schedule an Interview: Once your application is reviewed, you will receive a message in your GOES account instructing you to schedule an interview at one of the Global Entry Enrollment Centers.
- Interview Determines Your Eligibility: A U.S. Customs Border Protection officer will ask you questions, take your photo, and collect biometric information, e.g., scan your fingerprints.
- Provide Identification: Bring your valid passport(s) and one other form of identification, such as a driver’s license or ID card to the interview. If you are a lawful permanent resident, you must present your permanent resident card
Once you have your Known Traveler number, you can put that number in your airline frequent flyer account and you will start getting access to the TSA PRE check lines.
Individuals who already have a KTN, including members of Global Entry, NEXUS, or SENTRI, need not enroll in the TSA Pre✓™ application program.
